Maison Lavande was fully restored and upgraded in 2011. The interior was done with the assistance of Intona Limited, of Dundee, Scotland. The brief was simple - provide a welcoming and peaceful cottage while retaining the charm of this typical rural French home.
We think they achieved the balance that we - and hopefully you - are looking for in a holiday retreat. All the modern facilities and gadgetry of modern life, but in a traditional setting.
Have you ever arrived at a holiday home, full of expectation after seeing wonderful photos in a brochure or on a web site, then been disappointed by the reality? We're confident that Maison Lavande won't fall into that category! The cottage has been refitted with new furniture in the French style. Clean, fresh and comfortable. Well laid out, leaving room to breathe. And there is a large, sheltered garden in which to relax.
That relaxation could be just lying in the shade of the tall hedging that gives the garden its privacy. Or it could be sitting out on a balmy evening after a hard day's holidaying, sampling a bottle of wine. Perhaps a barbecue? Or maybe lounging by the TV (French Satellite TV is hooked up) with the French doors letting in the gentlest of breezes. Everything you need is right here in this holiday home in northern France!
For a more adventurous evening meal, you'll need a well equipped kitchen diner. Maison Lavande has that box ticked as well. Handy for a quick breakfast or supper, but with all the facilities needed for storing food and cooking main meals too. As you would expect, you will find a utility room. Even better, everything was fitted new during the refurbishment. And better still, should the weather turn bad, you can drop off your wet stuff in the cloak room and boot room.
And at the end of the day, what could make your holiday more complete than a comfortable bed and a great night's sleep. You can be sure that, with nothing more than the natural sounds of the north French countryside, you won't be disturbed. The holiday home sleeps up to 6 adults - in a double bedroom, a twin bedroom and a surprisingly comfortable double sofa bed.
This well-kept, non-smoking, holiday cottage provides everything you need for a successful break in France. From the full sized cooker and laundry facilities all the way down to that most essential of tools - the corkscrew to open your complimentary bottle of wine when you arrive!
